Production Racing provides a format for competition between virtually road standard cars, the sort of cars available on any dealer's forecourt throughout New Zealand.
Production Racing is exciting, spectacular and very affordable. There are several classes to ensure a wide spectrum and variety of cars and manufacturers. Each class races for its own New Zealand championship status and trophy. The Class structure ensures both 2wd and 4wd, either Forced Induction or Naturally Aspirating cars are eligible to run, however there are some restrictions on engine capacity in some classes to ensure close competitive racing.
A strict series of rules and weight limits will ensure close racing. In addition national titles are handed out to each class the end of the season. Each class is fiercely contested in its own right.
While officially classed as a support category to the NZ V8’s for all involved in the New Zealand Production Series it is the premier event of the weekend and the primary focus to our competitors, crews and supporters.
As part of The premier series, Production Racing receives considerable television coverage both on TV Three and Sky Sport.
Production Racing is without doubt the most cost effective way to compete at the highest level in New Zealand. Competitive cars are available on virtually any dealer's forecourt throughout the country. With little preparation, competitors are able to race at a national level on a fraction of the budget required for most other forms of top-level motorsport.
This website is owned and operated by the Entrants Association (Production Racing NZ Inc) in conjunction with Motorsport NZ (www.motorsport.co.nz) with the express purpose of promoting the class and its appeal to competitors. It is a condition of competing in the series that entrants and supporters belong to the Association.
Production Racing welcomes new entrants to the sport and to the class. Your enquires via E Mail or telephone are welcome.
